Accessibility question: I'm working on a long-overdue website overhaul. To show my publications, I'm using a pretty common format - thumbnail image next to pub info.

I've been writing alt text for each thumbnail, but in a long list like this, would I be better off just making the thumbnails aria-hidden? - I'm wondering whether cycling through a ton of thumbnail alts would be more annoying than helpful.

Mastodon does a nice job replicating the disorientation of early-days Twitter. It's like nostalgia for platform confusion.

This Mastodon server is by and for the community of human-computer interaction researchers. On the surface, Mastodon is like Twitter. However, the difference is that it is open-source, decentralized, and federated. This server is sponsored by @Princeton HCI and administered by a growing committee of volunteers.
